2. By coming into the net to finish off the point up there.

The elements needed to succeed utilizing this tactics:

  • Powerful shots. Both grounds stokes well developed.
  • Big serve to set up the point
  • Aggressive second serve return
  • Being comfortable playing close and/ or inside the baseline. Also from ¾ of the court as well.
  • Ability to take the ball on the rise.
  • Well developed transition from defense to offense.
  • Ability to change the direction of the ball rapidly and accurately.
  • Pinpoint accuracy on shots.
  • Fearless mentality.
  • Physically strong and tall.
  • Swinging volley.
  • Solid overhead smash.
  • Awareness to attack when the opponent is in a vulnerable position.
  • Solid and confident transition game to go to the net.
