Yahoo Answers: Advice for tennis Team Please!

Question:

Hey (: Okay, so I joined the high school tennis this year as a freshman. I've only been playing for a couple of months before high school and everyone on the high school team is really good!!! I feel so stupid because I am not really good yet...I can hit the ball when it comes at me and I can get most of my serves over and that's about it. I think people get annoyed when we are in practice and playing doubles and I'm their partner. Even the freshman are better than me! I know it shouldn't make me feel less confident, but it does...I'm really sensitive and I'm really hardworking but I'm extremely nervous for this season. Please give me some advice! THANKS SO MUCH <3!
Answer:
Step one....take a deep breath and relax a bit. Let tennis be fun! If you just started, you can expect to be playing catchup against some of the more experience players. Even though it seems like people are annoyed with you can change that quickly. Here are a few starting points.

Step two....start learning the proper grips.
a) Forehand grip = semi-western grip
b) Backhand grip, serve and volley = continental

Now here is a list of other recommended videos that will help you in advance faster

Hopefully these are helpful. Good Luck!

The follow through completes your service motion. From contact, follow through so that the racket points straight down at the court and get your back foot up so that all the weight is on your front foot. Bring the racket around to the other side of your body in a smooth and relaxed motion.
